"Guardian Angels"

Western Red Cedar, African Blackwood, and the larger one sits on a Black Cherry base.

This was one of the most difficult pieces I have ever made emotionally. I wanted to make a piece that elicits different emotions the more you look at it.

At first glance you see the angles, wings outstretched, and feel a sense of peace, and your eye is drawn to the larger angel. Then your eye is drawn to the smaller angel and you then think of the smaller angel, and the question then pops up, "What happened to the child to become and angel". For me it is a piece that starts with a feeling of peace, but the more I look at it, the sadder I feel.
